Brackish water, sometimes termed brack water, is water occurring in a natural environment that has more salinity than freshwater, but not as much as seawater. It may result from mixing seawater (salt water) and fresh water together, as in estuaries, or it may occur in brackish fossil aquifers. One of the species we offer is Monodactylus argenteus, a species of fish in the family Monodactylidae, the moonyfishes. Its common names include silver moonyfish, or silver moony,[2] butter bream, and diamondfish.[3] It is native to the western Pacific and Indian Oceans, including the Persian Gulf, Red Sea, and associated estuaries, such as the Mekong Delta.
