Habitat: Found in the Indo-Pacific region, including Indonesia, Philippines, New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Palau, and Marshall Islands.

Environment: Lives in coral reefs, lagoons, and seaward reefs, typically in areas with dense coral growth and on steep slopes. They are found at depths ranging from 4 to 52 meters.

Diet: Believed to feed primarily on coral polyps. Juveniles may also clean parasites from other fish.
