Fish and Invert Acclimation Technician

Fish and Invertebrate Acclimation Aquarist

Large marine life import/export company seeking individuals that have a good work ethic and a desire for continuous learning. Our Receiving department is the first point of contact and one of the most crucial departments of our husbandry staff. You will get hands-on training from some of the best in the field. No experience necessary but aquatic life enthusiasts are strongly encouraged to apply.


Responsibilities/Duties 

  • Acclimation of all incoming fish and invertebrates
  • Identifying and sorting species
  • Screening for quality and health
  • Water parameter readings and adjustments
  • Picking up shipments from local airport

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marine Science, Chemistry, Biology or a related field OR equivalent experience is not required but is a plus
  • Must possess strong observational skills to ensure animal health and safety
  • Must possess sound judgment and ability to use common sense for effective decision-making.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, work under pressure, meet deadlines and be able to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Good communication skills and attention to detail and task completion are essential
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes weekends and holidays as required.
  • Ability to lift and carry 40 pounds, kneel, bend, crouch, squat, and stand for extended periods of time
  • Valid driver’s license is a plus
