Paracheilinus cyaneus. The Blue Flasher Wrasse is a very beautiful and active wrasse. Blue Flasher Wrasses have elongated dorsal fins and are mostly red in color. Male Blue Flasher Wrasses can be very brightly colored with various electric blue hues on their upper half. During courting male Blue Flasher Wrasses can change colors rather fast, giving them their flasher name.
Blue Flasher Wrasses reach a maximum adult size of around 3 inches and need to be kept in tanks that are at least 55 gallons. Blue Flasher Wrasses are fairly strong jumpers and need to be kept in tanks with a tight fitting lid so they cannot jump out if spooked. Blue Flasher Wrasses are peaceful fish and shouldn't bother other fish, coral or inverts in your tank. This makes the Blue Flasher Wrasse a great fish for reef tanks.
