Pervagor melanocephalus. The Colored Filefish is a stunning and super colorful filefish. Colored Filefish have a mostly bright red body with a darker head. Some Colored Filefish have a stronger orange coloration as well.
Colored Filefish reach a maximum adult size of around 4 inches and need to be kept in tanks that are at least 29 gallons. Colored Filefish are peaceful fish that shouldn't bother other non-filefish in your tank. Colored Filefish have been known to nip at hard and soft corals as well as smaller inverts. This makes them a bad choice to add to reef aquariums.
